Georgian Energy Ministry signed MoU with Turkish Anadolu Group

Georgian Energy Ministry signed on Wednesday memorandum on the construction of new hydroelectric power with the Turkish Anadolu Group.

The document was signed by Minister of Energy of Georgia Kakha Kaladze and coordinator of the energy sector of Anadolu Group Tugban Izet Aksoy.

Turkish company is committed to build a power plant with power of 300 megawatts in Georgia. The Turkish side will study potential of hydro and then decide which of them will be built.

At this stage, Anadolu Group invests in the construction of the 85-megawatt hydropower plant in Paravan Samtse-Javakheti. The annual output of the station - 420 million kW / h, investment cost of the project - $ 125 million.

Construction of hydropower Paravan began in 2009 and will complete in 2015.
