Kazakhstan reveals volume of LPG production in 1H2024

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 16. The volume of LPG production in Kazakhstan amounted to 0.8 million tons from January through June 2024, said Energy Minister Almassadam Satkaliyev during a government meeting, Trend reports.

"In 2023, the production volume of liquefied petroleum gas was 1.6 million tons. The plan for 2024 is also 1.6 million tons, and according to the results of the first half of 2024, 0.8 million tons have been produced, which is 50 percent of the total plan for 2024," the minister said.

Meanwhile, Almassadam Satkaliyev signed an order to increase the maximum wholesale price for liquefied petroleum gas, effective July 1, 2024.

According to the order, the maximum wholesale price for liquefied petroleum gas increased from 40,320 to 45,158 tenge (from $85.37 to $95.61) per ton.

In 2023, overall gas production in Kazakhstan totaled 59.063 billion cubic meters, with contributions from Tengiz (16.009 billion cubic meters), Karachaganak (22.385 billion cubic meters), Kashagan (11.856 billion cubic meters), and other fields (8.813 billion cubic meters).

Kazakhstan is projected to produce 60.456 billion cubic meters of raw natural gas in 2024.
