BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 17. Azerbaijan exported a total of 28,400 tons of petroleum coke in the first two months of 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee indicates that
the fiscal yield derived from this volume of exported goods
culminated in $8.1 million.
Despite a 39.1 percent contraction in the volume of petroleum coke
exports relative to the corresponding timeframe of the previous
year, there has been a notable escalation in revenue, which has
surged by a factor of 2.3, translating to an increase of $4.5
million in monetary terms.
During the corresponding timeframe of the preceding fiscal year,
Azerbaijan executed the exportation of 46,700 metric tons of
petroleum coke, which was appraised at a valuation of $3.6
million.
To note, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover for the reporting period reached $8.9 billion, marking an increase of $1.7 billion, or 23.2 percent, compared to the same period last year. In January-February of the previous year, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover totaled $7.2 billion.
From this overall turnover, $4.8 billion was designated for
exports, whereas $4.1 billion was ascribed to imports. Exports
experienced a marginal contraction of $13 million (0.3 percent)
relative to the annual baseline, whereas imports exhibited a
substantial escalation of $1.7 billion (69.2 percent).
A favorable foreign trade equilibrium of $628 million was
documented; however, this signifies a contraction of $1.7 billion,
equating to a reduction of 3.7 times compared to the corresponding
timeframe in the previous year.
