ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 23. Kazakhstan's First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar held a working meeting with the President of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Hou Qijun, Trend reports via the press service of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.
According to the information, the parties discussed the current status and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas sector. Roman Sklyar noted the dynamic development of interaction between Kazakhstan and China, including with CNPC, across all key areas.
Special attention during the negotiations was given to the implementation of joint projects on the territory of Kazakhstan, including the modernization of oil refining facilities, the development of joint subsoil use, ensuring social stability at enterprises, promoting joint initiatives in the petrochemical sector, as well as ensuring stable energy resource supplies.
Hou Qijun expressed gratitude to the Kazakh side for the open and constructive dialogue, emphasizing CNPC’s readiness to continue close cooperation aimed at introducing advanced technologies and implementing mutually beneficial projects.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their interest in further deepening cooperation within the framework of the Kazakh-Chinese intergovernmental commission, as well as the "One Belt, One Road" initiative.
