DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, July 27. The value of industrial production in Tajikistan's Dushanbe amounted to 2.4 billion somoni (around $226.5 million) from January through June 2024, which is 500 million somoni ($47.193 million) or 23 percent more than the same reporting period last year. Trend reports.
This was announced at a press conference by the First Deputy Chairman of Dushanbe, Jamshed Tabarzoda. According to him, 783 enterprises were operating in the capital during the reporting period.
"The export of products from industrial enterprises in Dushanbe during this period amounted to $3 million, which is $992,000 more than the same period last year," he added.
It was also noted that since 2017, over 500 modern industrial enterprises and workshops were built and put into operation in Dushanbe, creating 13,000 new jobs.
Industrial production in Tajikistan totaled 18.2 billion somoni ($1.710 billion) from January through May 2024, an increase of 10 percent or 1.8 billion somoni ($169.203 million) compared to the same period in 2023.
