BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 15. The generation of renewable energy power plants in Iran amounted to 261 million kilowatt hours in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (from May 21 through June 20, 2024), the statement of Iran's Renewable Energy Organization (IEO) said, Trend reports.
Furthermore, it is reported that, due to the production of the
specified volume of electricity in the third month, it was possible
to save 70 million cubic meters of gas.
A total of 57 million liters of water were saved in the third month
by producing the mentioned amount of electricity. The spread of
146,000 tons of greenhouse gases was also prevented.
To note, Iran's electricity production potential is 93,024 megawatts. The production potential of Iran's thermal power plants is 75,767 megawatts; the production potential of hydroelectric power plants - 12,144 megawatts; the production potential of retail power plants - 2,485 megawatts; the production potential of renewable power plants - 1,141 megawatts; and the production potential of Bushehr Nuclear Power Station - 1,020 megawatts, diesel production potential of the blocks - 408 megawatts.
