DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, December 27. The industrial output in the Sughd region of Tajikistan amounted to 26.517 billion somoni ($2.4 billion) from January through November 2024, which is 15.5 percent higher compared to the same period in 2023, Trend reports.
According to the region's administration, during the reporting period, the production of flour increased by 42 percent year-on-year. The production of vegetable oil rose by 1.1 percent. Pasta production grew by 0.7 percent, and bread and bakery products increased by 10.1 percent.
Additionally, the production of canned goods in conditional cans rose by 31.8 percent. Non-alcoholic beverage production increased by 27.2 percent.
Furthermore, coal production reached 1.847 million tons, a 33.8 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
From January through September 2024, industrial enterprises in Tajikistan produced goods worth 36.3 billion somoni (approximately $3.4 billion dollars), which is 15.3 percent higher than in the same period of the previous year.
The highest growth in production was observed in the mining industry, with an increase of 35.9 percent, followed by the manufacturing industry with a 10 percent rise, electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply at 0.6 percent, and the water supply, waste processing, and recycling sector, which grew 1.7 times.
The largest industrial centers in the country remain the Sughd region, which accounts for 56.5 percent of the total industrial output, and the Khatlon region, which holds a 23.4 percent share.
