BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 3. Uzbekistan's state energy company Uzbekneftegaz and China's Honghua Group discussed accelerating the delivery of drilling equipment and expanding cooperation to support the country's growing oil and gas drilling operations.
This was reflected in the statement by the Uzbekneftgaz.
The talks took place during a visit by a delegation led by Uzbekneftegaz Chairman Abdugani Sanginov to China, where the delegation met with executives of Honghua Group, one of the country's leading manufacturers of drilling equipment for the oil and gas industry.
The parties reviewed the progress of ongoing joint projects and discussed prospects for expanding their long-term partnership.
"Particular attention was paid to ensuring the delivery of drilling equipment within the agreed timeframe and, where possible, accelerating shipments to support drilling operations," Uzbekneftegaz said in a statement.
According to the company, the two sides have already signed contracts for the supply of four ZJ70 drilling rigs with a 450-ton lifting capacity.
During the meeting, the sides stressed the importance of delivering the equipment as early as possible to accelerate drilling activities and bring new wells into operation on schedule.
The discussions also covered the development of UNG Burg'ilash, Uzbekneftegaz's specialized drilling subsidiary established to increase drilling capacity and strengthen the company's technical capabilities. The parties explored opportunities to expand cooperation to support the subsidiary's future operations.
In addition, the two sides exchanged views on the terms of potential new orders, taking into account their long-standing cooperation and the implementation of existing contracts.
The meeting reflects Uzbekneftegaz's broader efforts to modernize its drilling fleet, expand domestic hydrocarbon production and strengthen partnerships with international equipment suppliers as Uzbekistan seeks to increase exploration and production activities in the country's oil and gas sector.
