BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 3. Officials from Uzbekistan's Tashkent region and Russia's Republic of Bashkortostan reviewed progress on $235.7 million worth of joint investment projects and discussed expanding cooperation in trade, industry and other sectors during an online meeting.
This was reflected in the statement by the Tashkent Regional Administration following the talks between Tashkent Region Governor Zoyir Mirzayev and Bashkortostan Head Radiy Khabirov.
The sides discussed ways to deepen cooperation in trade, investment and industrial development, while also reviewing the implementation of ongoing bilateral projects.
"The parties reached agreements on accelerating the implementation of existing projects, ensuring the timely fulfillment of planned tasks and further expanding practical cooperation between Tashkent Region and Bashkortostan," the regional administration said in a statement.
According to the administration, seven investment projects with a combined value of $235.7 million are currently being implemented under a presidential decree. The projects are expected to strengthen the economic potential of both regions, create new production capacity and generate thousands of jobs.
The meeting also focused on the development of the Bekobod Technopark, with the two sides discussing measures to accelerate its expansion and operations.
In addition, the officials explored opportunities to establish joint industrial enterprises, speed up investment projects, expand trade relations and strengthen cooperation in agriculture, tourism and sports.
The parties also exchanged views on prospective joint initiatives and new investment projects aimed at taking regional cooperation to a new level.
The meeting reflects Uzbekistan's continued efforts to strengthen interregional partnerships with Russian regions through investment, industrial cooperation and joint manufacturing projects as part of its broader strategy to promote regional economic development.
