DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, April 20. The value of industrial production in Tajikistan's Sughd region totaled 8.4 billion somoni ($782.6 million) from January through March 2025, Deputy Chairman of the region Fayzullo Qosimi said during a working meeting, where he presented a report on the region’s socio-economic development, Trend reports.
He observed that the growth trajectory, calibrated for inflationary metrics, attained a remarkable 33.3 percent relative to the corresponding timeframe in 2024.
During this period, growth in the production of key goods was ensured, including 108,700 tons of flour (up 20 percent), 2,300 tons of vegetable oil (up 34 percent), and 12,200 tons of bread and bakery products (up 0.5 percent).
Consequent to the strategic initiatives executed, a total of 37
novel enterprises were inaugurated within the region throughout the
reporting timeframe, culminating in the generation of 229 fresh
employment opportunities.
Qosimi also disseminated insights regarding the multifaceted
landscape of education, healthcare paradigms, youth and sports
initiatives, women's and family dynamics, tourism trajectories,
cultural frameworks, public ceremonial protocols, and citizen
engagement strategies.
On that account, regional heads of several cities and districts presented their updates, and the chairman of the region issued instructions to enhance industrial output, increase exports, ensure timely spring planting, meet cotton and potato targets, improve tax collection, conserve electricity, and accelerate construction projects ahead of the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan’s independence.
