BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 24. Eni’s Enilive division reported a decline in financial performance for the first quarter of 2025, with results impacted by challenging market conditions in the biofuels segment, Trend reports.
According to the company’s production results, Enilive posted a proforma adjusted EBIT of 95 million euros in Q1 2025, a 48% decrease compared to the same period in 2024. The adjusted operating profit of subsidiaries totaled 110 million euros, down from 187 million euros in Q1 2024. Adjusted net profit stood at 65 million euros, a drop from 126 million euros a year earlier.
The decline was mainly attributed to weakened margins in the biofuels business, driven by oversupply in the European market that put pressure on spot HVO prices. This negative trend was partially mitigated by the solid performance of Enilive’s marketing activities across its advanced service station network.
Proforma adjusted EBITDA also declined, amounting to 172 million euros, 33% lower than the 256 million euros reported in Q1 2024.
Biofuel throughputs were also affected during the quarter, totaling 292 kilotons, down 16% year-on-year. The decrease was largely due to reduced volumes processed at the Chalmette biorefinery, following scheduled maintenance shutdowns.
