Today the Second Republican Creative Youth Forum opened in Baku.

Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Intigam Babayev noted that such forums and meetings play an important role in the in the lives of young people. "The first such forum was held in 2007, and the changes in the lives of young people since then are evident," the deputy minister said.

Babayev noted that the achieved development on the one hand is the result of the state's support and on the other hand, young people's self-cultivation.

Deputy Prime Minister Elchin Efendiyev said when it comes to creativity, high quality products and work should come to the surface.

"Today, the success of every young person living in independent Azerbaijan, is the success story of the Azerbaijani culture," the Deputy Prime Minister said.

The next speaker, Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov expressed confidence that the forum will be an important event because, in the words of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, "people having a high culture, will always try to go forward."

The minister said hundreds of young people have been sent abroad in recent years where they represented Azerbaijan. The country has built new cinemas and youth centres for talented young people and special scholarships have been granted.

Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev, in turn noted that the country's youth policy, the basis of which was laid by national leader Heydar Aliyev, is successfully pursued, because President Ilham Aliyev is optimistic about the future of Azerbaijani youth.

"All of this provides a basis for Azerbaijan to form and develop a strong and talented young generation. Some 70,000 boys and girls learn the basics under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism which is always ready to support our youth," Garayev said.

The Second Republican Creative Youth Forum starting today will continue until November 30. A meeting devoted to the development of fine and decorative art, photography and fashion will be held tomorrow. The challenges of film, theatre and literature will be discussed on November 28, music and dance on November 29 and issues of intellectual development, research, education and journalism on November 30.
