TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 2. China has sent the first train with BYD cars to Uzbekistan from the newly built Zhengzhou International Land Port Railway Operation Station, Trend reports.

This is the first batch of cars that BYD will supply to Central Asia via this route. The first freight train will deliver 260 electric vehicles to Uzbekistan.

The first delivery of electric vehicles from this point marked the opening of the Zhengzhou International Land Port Railway Operation Station.

The distance between the inland port and BYD's Zhengzhou base is less than 1 kilometer. Commercial vehicles can travel directly from the factory site to the inland port departure station, eliminating the need for truck transportation, increasing the efficiency of logistics operations, and reducing logistics costs.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan’s trade turnover volume with China amounted to $5 billion from January through May 2024. This figure is 11.1 percent higher year-on-year ($4.5 billion in January–May 2023).

The volume of exports to China from Uzbekistan amounted to $821.9 million, which is 2.5 percent less than the same period last year ($843.7 million in January–May 2023).
