BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 2. From the beginning of the current water year (September 22, 2024) to the present day (March 2, 2025), the water reserves in Iran's water dams have decreased by 5% compared to the same period last year, Trend reports citing the Iranian Water Resources Management Company.
According to the information, during the mentioned period, the water reserves in the country's water dams amounted to approximately 22.3 billion cubic meters. This figure was 23.5 billion cubic meters in the same period last year.
During the mentioned period, 8.44 billion cubic meters of water entered the country's water dams. This is 31% less than in the same period last year. However, in the same period last year, approximately 12.2 billion cubic meters of water entered the country's water dams.
The company official said that during the mentioned period, 10.7 billion cubic meters of water left the country's water dams. This is 1% less than in the same period last year. Thus, in the same period last year, 10.8 billion cubic meters of water left the country's water dams.
Сonsidering that Iran is located in a drought zone, the country's officials emphasize the importance of reducing and controlling water consumption in various areas.
