BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 12. ExxonMobil is advancing its position in the global liquefied natural gas (LNG) market, with plans to exceed 40 million metric tons per annum (MTPA) in LNG sales by 2030, Trend reports.

This growth is driven by the development of four world-class LNG projects, which will further expand the company’s market access and solidify its global footprint in the energy sector.

Key milestones include the anticipated start of LNG sales from the Golden Pass development in the US and Qatar’s North Field East expansion by late 2025.

The company also has additional LNG ventures in its pipeline, with final investment decisions expected in 2025 for the Papua project in Papua New Guinea and in 2026 for the Rovuma LNG development in Mozambique. Both projects are set to strengthen ExxonMobil’s supply capabilities and diversify its LNG portfolio.

These initiatives align with ExxonMobil’s broader upstream strategy, which focuses on advantaged assets offering lower supply costs and higher returns. By 2030, the company aims to deliver an additional $9 billion in annual upstream earnings, a 50% increase over 2024 levels, based on stable commodity prices.
