BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 1. A landmine explosion injured a civilian near the Sugovushan settlement in Azerbaijan’s liberated Agdara region, authorities said in a joint statement, Trend reports.

According to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General’s Office, and the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), the incident occurred in an area along the former line of contact that has not yet been cleared of mines.

The victim, identified as Mahir Maharramov, 42, a resident of Hajigarvand village in the Agdara region, sustained injuries to his right leg in the blast.

Officials said the Tartar District Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the incident.

Authorities again urged the public to strictly follow mine safety guidelines, heed warning signs, avoid entering unfamiliar or potentially hazardous areas, and refrain from approaching zones where demining operations are underway.
