New data center worth $100 million will be constructed in Kazakhstan in 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakh media, which in turn refer to press office of Data Center Industry and Blockchain Association of Kazakhstan.
The agreement on the construction has been reached during the visit of Kazakhstan’s President Kassym Jomart Tokayev to China.
Thus, international company with Kazakh participation Powerry and the state organization of China CETC International have signed a memorandum of intent, which oversees a complex of measures on development of digital infrastructure in Kazakhstan.
In particular, the memorandum oversees agreement between two companies on construction of a data center worth $100 million in Kazakhstan’s capital Nur-Sultan. The construction is to be launched in 2020. The companies are planning to jointly manage the data center and to contribute to implementation of Digital Kazakhstan state program and creation of Digital Silk Way.
Furthermore, Kazakhstan and Kazakh business are ready to work together to promote Kazakhstan’s international brand in global market of data center services.
“Already, the services market is lacking supply of computing power. We believe that the demand for computing power will go on increasing the next couple of years and we expect record breaking growth rate of the market during 2020-2025,” the report said.
