BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 24. The representatives of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) Clive Wright and Abigail Hansen arrived in Kazakhstan to evaluate the effectiveness of the European CASE-1 and CASE-2 training projects, which provided for the introduction of the best European practices and standards on aviation security in Kazakhstan, Trend reports via the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of Kazakhstan.
Within the frame of the visit, Kazakh representatives attended to the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan and the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of Kazakhstan
The CASE-1 project was launched in 2017 and completed in 2019. Within the framework of this project, aviation inspectors and employees of airport aviation security services participated in various seminars and courses on the study of European aviation security requirements.
The CASE-2 project was launched in 2023 and is aimed to provide Kazakhstan at the national level with support for the implementation of European requirements and standards in the field of aviation security. The phased introduction of European standards is taking place within the concept of development of the transport and logistics potential of Kazakhstan until 2030.
Following the meeting, the representatives of the ECAC and the Deputy General Director of Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan Darkhan Yespotanov discussed the cooperation between Kazakhstan and ECAC, in particular, plans for the coming years and current issues on security at civil aviation facilities.
Additionally, the experts of the ECAC supported the plans to create a single state operator, and noted that there was currently a tendency in many countries to create similar services, and the implementation of this initiative would help significantly to improve the level of aviation security in the country.
The European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) is an intergovernmental structure that was established in 1955. It includes 44 member states, including all 28 EU countries.
