BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 19. The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, Elisa Spiropali, welcomed in Tirana the Foreign Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany, Johann Wadephul, who is conducting a tour in Albania, Trend reports citing the Albanian Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
During the bilateral meeting, the German minister emphasized the progress that Albania and Montenegro have made regarding vital reforms for the EU accession process, particularly in the field of the rule of law.
Minister Spiropali expressed to her counterpart her gratitude for the unwavering political and technical support that Germany has provided to Albania on its European path.
According to Spiropali, Germany has always maintained a fair and merit-based approach to the enlargement process, keeping it alive even in difficult moments and making it credible for Albania and for other countries of the region.
Both ministers shared the conviction that the Western Balkans are a natural and irreplaceable part of the European family.
