BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 4. A Memorandum of
Cooperation establishing the official partnership between PASHA
Holding and the Baku Arbitration Center for the LEGIS Legal Forum
has been signed.
The Memorandum was signed on behalf of the Baku Arbitration Center
by Kamala Mehdiyeva, Chairperson of the Board of the Baku
Arbitration Center, and on behalf of PASHA Holding by Aytaj
Gasimova, Director of the Legal and Government Relations Function
at PASHA Holding LLC and Chair of the LEGIS Legal Forum Organizing
Committee.
The Memorandum marks an important milestone in promoting
arbitration as an effective dispute resolution mechanism in
Azerbaijan and supporting the institutional development of the Baku
Arbitration Center. It establishes the framework for a long-term
and meaningful partnership between the two organizations.
Under the partnership, the Baku Arbitration Center and PASHA
Holding will jointly implement projects, publications, conferences,
and training programmes aimed at raising awareness of arbitration
and promoting its development. The parties also seek to foster a
stronger arbitration culture among the legal community, students,
and young professionals.
The cooperation will encompass joint initiatives in the field of
legal assistance, the application of modern technologies and
research findings, the organization of seminars, training sessions,
conferences, and academic events, the exchange of information on
legislative matters, as well as collaboration in developing
proposals to improve legislation.
Commenting on the signing of the Memorandum, Kamala Mehdiyeva noted
that the partnership would make a significant contribution to
advancing arbitration as a dispute resolution mechanism in
Azerbaijan while supporting the institutional development of the
Baku Arbitration Center. She added that collaborating with a strong
partner such as the LEGIS Legal Forum would help raise awareness of
arbitration and take the development of the field to a new
level.
Aytaj Gasimova emphasized that one of the Forum's primary
objectives is to bridge legal education and legal practice. She
noted that the partnership with the Baku Arbitration Center would
provide young legal professionals with valuable knowledge and new
opportunities in the field of arbitration, while also contributing
to the development of a strong and dynamic professional community
in this area.
