Iran's trade turnover with Qatar likely to increase

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 11. Iran's trade turnover with Qatar may grow to $1 billion a year, the Director of the Center for International Affairs of the Ministry of Energy of Iran and Secretary of the Iran-Qatar Joint Commission Mojtaba Akbari said at the 10th meeting of the Iran-Qatar Joint Economic Cooperation Commission on Economic Cooperation, Trend reports.

According to him, given the level of Iranian-Qatari political relations, the joint commission on economic cooperation between the two countries is an important opportunity to overcome barriers to economic cooperation and deepen these relations.

At the meeting, Saleh al-Mana, chairman of the International Center of Qatar's Ministry of Industry and Trade and secretary of the joint commission for economic cooperation between the two countries, stated that Qatar always intends to develop relations with Iran. Developing economic ties is of great importance to the Qatari government. There is hope that after studying the economic committees, the prospective document for the economic development of Iran and Qatar will be adjusted.

To note, the 10th meeting of the Iran-Qatar Joint Economic Commission is being held in Qatar on December 10-12. Following the meeting, the document of the 10th session will be signed by Qatar's Minister of Industry and Trade Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani, and Iran's Energy Minister Abbas Aliabadi.
