BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 6. Türkiye has transported 8,935,339 tons of cargo from Algeria to the ports of the country from January through December 2023, Trend reports, referring to Türkiye's Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
According to the ministry, vessels flying the flag of Türkiye delivered 231,373 tons of cargo to the ports from Algeria, while vessels flying the flags of other countries delivered 6,365,410 tons.
Meanwhile, from January through December 2023, 329,823 tons of transit cargoes were transported to the ports of Türkiye from Algeria.
To note, from January through December 2023, the ports of Türkiye received 391,717,308 tons of cargo.
The cargo reception by vessels flying Türkiye's flag from January through December 2023 amounted to 29,299,350 tons. Cargo transportation by vessels under the flags of other countries to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 362,417,958 tons.
The report says that from January through December 2023, 66,735,403 tons of transit cargoes were transported from the ports of Türkiye.
Türkiye's ports received 36,375,497 tons of cargo in December 2023.
In this period, the reception of cargoes to domestic ports by Türkiye's flag vessels amounted to 2,739,933 tons.
"Cargo shipments by vessels flying the flags of other countries to Türkiye's ports amounted to 33,635,564 tons," the ministry said in a statement.
In addition, a total of 5,238,880 tons of transit cargoes were transported from Türkiye's ports in December 2023.
To note, Türkiye's ports received 60,195 vessels from January through December 2023 (40,918 vessels under the flags of other countries, and 19,277 vessels under the flag of Türkiye).
The ports of Türkiye received 4,697 vessels in December last year (3,190 vessels under the flags of other countries and 1,507 vessels under the flag of Türkiye).
