Volume of chemical transshipment by Turkish ports in 1H2024 revealed

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 18. Türkiye's ports transported 7.78 million tons of chemical products from January through June this year, Trend reports via the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

The ministry noted that 796,228 tons of these cargoes were transported by vessels under the Turkish flag, while 6,984,654 tons were transported by vessels under the flags of other states.

"In June this year, Turkish ports transshipped 25,000 tons of chemical products," the ministry said.

In June 2024, Türkiye's ports handled 32.18 million tons of cargo. During this period, cargo traffic to domestic ports by vessels under the Turkish flag amounted to 2.49 million tons.

"The cargo traffic of vessels under the flags of other countries to Turkish ports amounted to 29.69 million tons," the ministry stated.

Additionally, Turkish ports handled 5.9 million tons of transit cargo in June 2024.

According to the ministry, from January through June 2024, Türkiye's ports received a total of 204.08 million tons of cargo.

"The reception of cargoes by vessels under the Turkish flag amounted to 14.87 million tons, while vessels under the flags of other countries transported 189.2 million tons of cargo to Turkish ports," the ministry reported.

The report states that Turkish ports handled 34.39 million tons of transit cargo from January through June 2024.

In June of this year, the ports of Türkiye received 5,543 vessels.

During this period, Turkish ports accepted 3,517 vessels under the flags of other countries and 2,026 vessels under the Turkish flag.

From January through June 2024, Turkish ports received a total of 29,315 vessels.

During this period, vessels under the flags of other countries accepted by Turkish ports totaled 19,790, while those under the Turkish flag totaled 5,525.
