ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 16. According to the results for the first quarter of 2025, oil and gas condensate production at KazMunayGas’s mega-projects increased by 14.0 percent, reaching 2.93 million tons, Trend reports.
According to the company’s production results for Q1 2025, the most significant contribution came from Tengiz, showing a growth of 24.9 percent. This was made possible by the start of production at the third-generation plant.
Moreover, the volume of gas production also significantly increased to 1,055 million m³ (+25.8 percent).
In the first quarter, Karachaganak produced 296,000 tons of oil and condensate (+1.8 percent) and 684 million m³ of gas (+7.2 percent). The growth is associated with increased volumes of gas re-injection into the reservoir, which enhances oil recovery.
Meanwhile, at the same time, there was a decrease in oil production at Kashagan by 2.5 percent (761,000 tons), which is related to an increase in gas content in the raw material. Gas production also decreased by 0.4 percent.
The company continues to work on improving the operational efficiency and reliability of these key assets, which is especially important in the context of unstable external factors.
