Tajikistan to initiate a number of road construction projects in 2023

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 24. President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon has announced that a number of road construction projects in Tajikistan will be initiated next year, Trend reports citing the Tajik president's press service.

According to him, implementation of 5 projects, including the construction of highways - Guliston-Kulob (32.5 kilometers), Dangara-Guliston (49.2 kilometers), Guliston-Farkhor (40 kilometers), Bokhtar-Levakant-Dangara (40 kilometers), 4 road sections in Sughd region (52 kilometers) will begin in 2023.

Rahmon emphasized that in order to improve the condition of roads and highways and turn Tajikistan into a transit country, a total of 13 state investment projects worth 5.1 billion somoni ($502.9 million) have been implemented in Tajikistan over the past 5 years.

As a result, 250 kilometers of roads, 42 bridges, 4 tunnels have been constructed across the country in last 5 years.
