“Thus, the three-session rally in oil prices came to an end. Investors are assessing the implications of resumed Russian diesel exports, as well as rising geopolitical tensions.

On October 10, Russia partially lifted restrictions on diesel exports after reaching agreements with the United States. The move helped ease supply constraints in global fuel markets.

At the same time, US lawmakers said that the agreements reached by US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin appear to contradict US legislation banning imports of Russian energy resources until Moscow ends its aggression against Ukraine,” the report said.

It also noted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had said strikes against Russia would continue amid Moscow's ongoing attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure: “These strikes are seen as a violation of the ‘energy truce’ previously announced by Trump.”

“Meanwhile, following missile and drone attacks on the main airport in Saudi Arabia's capital, pressure is mounting on the Trump administration to support Riyadh in its fight against Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen,” the report added.
