ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 12. Kazakhstan and Türkiye have signed seven documents worth $1.9 billion, trade contracts for the supply of meat worth $80 million, Trend reports.
The signing of documents took place as part of the working trip of the Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparov to Ankara.
The agreements are aimed at joining forces in the construction of vegetable storage facilities, service enterprises for agriculture, agricultural processing plants, and the supply of livestock products to the Turkish market.
To note, the volume of trade turnover of agricultural products between Kazakhstan and Türkiye amounted to $325 million in 2023.
Meanwhile, the volume of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Türkiye amounted to $2.05 billion from January through May 2024, which is 19.5 percent less than for the same period in 2023 ($2.54 billion).
The main share is occupied by exports to Türkiye. Thus, in the first quarter of 2024, the volume of exports to Türkiye amounted to $1.3 billion (for the same period in 2023 - $1.65 billion).
In addition, imports from Türkiye decreased by 15.4 percent compared to the first five months of 2023 and amounted to $755.1 million. From January through May 2023, imports amounted to $893.3 million.
