BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 14. Azerbaijani consumers spent 112.3 million manat ($66 million) on pharmaceutical products and medical supplies in January 2025.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee indicates that this amount represents a notable increase of 6.1 million manat ($66 million), or 5.7 percent, compared to the same period last year.
Pharmaceutical products and medical supplies accounted for 2.3 percent of the total trade turnover of the country during the reporting period.
In total, retail trade turnover in Azerbaijan reached almost 4.8 billion manat ($2.8 million) in January 2025, with food products, beverages, and tobacco accounting for around 2.6 billion manat ($1.5 million), while non-food goods made up 2.2 billion manat ($1.2 million).
Retail trade turnover increased by 3.7 percent in real terms compared to January 2024, with food products, beverages, and tobacco seeing a rise of 1.8 percent, while non-food products grew by 6.1 percent.
