ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 3. From January through July 2025, the gross agricultural output in Kazakhstan increased by 3.7 percent, reaching 2.4 trillion tenge (approx. $4.56 billion), said Kazakhstan's Minister of Agriculture, Aidarbek Saparov, Trend reports.
The growth was driven by increases in both livestock and crop production.
The processing industry is showing accelerated growth: food production increased by 9.2 percent, reaching 2.13 trillion tenge (approx. $4.05 billion), while beverage production rose by 6.8 percent to 692.4 billion tenge (approx. $1.32 billion). Notable increases were recorded in the production of vegetable oil (+24 percent), butter (+10.4 percent), sausages (+9 percent), and flour (+6.6 percent).
“In his Address to the People of Kazakhstan, President Tokayev emphasized the need to transition from direct subsidies to accessible lending through the involvement of commercial banks. To this end, new preferential lending programs with interest rates of no more than 5 percent per annum were introduced in 2024. This became possible through the combination of budgetary and commercial resources,” said Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov.
Capital investment in agriculture reached 442.7 billion tenge (approx. $841.13 million), and in food production—104.2billion tenge (approx. $197.98 million). These resources are aimed at modernization and the adoption of advanced technologies.
