By Rahim Zamanov - Trend: The value of the trade exchanges between Iran and Iraq stood at $6.2 billion in the first half of the current Iranian calendar year, which started on March 21 the chairman of Iran-Iraq joint chamber of commerce Jahanbakhsh Sanjabi said on Nov. 24, IRNA reported.
"Iran's exports accounted for $5.6 billlion of the mentioned amount," Sanjabi said. ""Exports of non-oil goods to Iraq amounted to $3.06 billion, showing 26 percent rise year on year."
"Some $878 million worth of goods were also transited via Iran to Iraq," Sanjabi added.
"Iranian companies have won bids in Iraq to carry out over $800 million worth of technical and engineering projects, such as building dams, bridges, residential complexes, power plants, and medical centers," he said.
According to Iranian Customs Administration, Iran conducted $45.218 billion in trade of non-oil goods with other countries during the first seven months of the current calendar.
The country exported $21.162 billion worth of non-oil goods (including gas condensates) and imported $24.056 billion of non-oil goods during the 7-month period.
China, Iraq, and the United Arab Emirates were the three top importers of Iranian goods during the period, while the United Arab Emirates, China, and India were the leading exporters of goods to Iran.
