The US imported 575,000 barrels of oil products from Azerbaijan in January-June 2015, which is 6.8 times more than in January-June 2014, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said.
The US imported 84,000 barrels of oil products from Azerbaijan in the same period of 2014.
In 2014, the US imported from Azerbaijan 484,000 barrels of oil products, compared to 366,000 barrels imported in 2013.
After a long break (since 2009), the US resumed the supply of oil products from Azerbaijan in 2012. Some 308,000 barrels of Azerbaijani oil products were delivered to the US in 2008.
The sole producer of oil products in Azerbaijan is the country's State Oil Company SOCAR.
Previously, the oil products in Azerbaijan were produced at two oil refineries.
However, the Azneftyag oil refinery has been recently liquidated and included into the Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery.
