Azerbaijan's money supply in national currency increases significantly over year

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 23. Azerbaijan's money supply in manat terms (M2) grew by 3.7 billion manat ($2.1 billion), or 11.86 percent, as of July 1, 2024, compared to the same period last year (from 31.4 billion manat ($18.4 billion) to 35.1 billion manat ($20.6 billion)), Trend reports.

According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), the cash supply in circulation (M0) increased by 1.05 billion manat ($617 million) (7.26 percent) over the year - from 14.5 billion manat ($8.5 billion) to 15.5 billion manat ($9.1 billion), and the and the broad money supply (M3) increased by 3.8 billion manat ($2.2 billion) (9.27 percent) - to 45.06 billion manat ($26.5 billion) (against 41.2 billion manat ($24.2 billion) a year earlier).

Money supply for transactions (M1) increased by 1.9 billion manat ($1.1 billion) (7.32 percent) to 28.5 billion manat ($16.7 billion) from 26.6 billion manat ($15.6 billion).
