BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 15. The Kish gas field in Iran has seen its production potential come to fruition by around 60 percent with the launch of well No. 3, representative of Iranian Pars oil and gas company Abdullah Mehrabi said, Trend reports.
According to him, with the commissioning of the mentioned well, the production at the field increased to 570 million cubic feet (about 16.1 million cubic meters) per day.
Mehrabi noted that with the completion of production work on 8 wells in the Kish gas field, an important step has been taken in the first phase of the field's development project. The works of the project are being carried out jointly with Pars Oil and Gas Company as the entrepreneur and National Mining Company of Iran as the contractor.
The official stated that with the completion of operational works at the remaining six wells of the field, gas production will increase to 28.3 million cubic meters per day and will contribute to partially covering the energy deficit in the country.
To note, Iranian Pars Oil and Gas Company and Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company signed an agreement on February 4, 2023, to develop Phase 1 of the Kish gas field in the Persian Gulf in the province of Hormozgan in southern Iran. Under the contract, $900 million will be spent, and 14 wells will be drilled and completed by the National Drilling Company. With the completion of work within 14 months, 28 million cubic meters of gas and 11,000 barrels of gas condensate will be produced daily from this field, which will be transported to processing plants in the Asalouyeh area.
