BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 4. Azerbaijan exported $220.4 million worth of non-oil products to Switzerland last year.
The data obtained by Trend from the country's State Customs Committee shows that this is $45.1 million, or 25.7 percent more than in 2023. The volume of non-oil exports to Switzerland amounted to 6.57 percent of Azerbaijan's total exports in the reporting period.
At the same time, the volume of trade operations between Azerbaijan and Switzerland in 2024 totaled $464.3 million. The report shows that this is by $214.9 million, or 86.2 percent more than in 2023.
Regarding imports, Azerbaijan increased imports of products from Switzerland by $169.8 million, or 3.3 times, to $243.8 million annually in 2024.
Azerbaijan conducted trade operations with 180 foreign countries for the amount of $47.6 billion in 2024. This is $3.6 billion, or 7 percent less than in 2023. Exports accounted for $26.5 billion of foreign trade turnover, while imports accounted for $2.6 billion.
To note, over the last year, exports decreased by $7.3 billion, or 21.7 percent, while imports increased by $3.8 billion, or 21.8 percent. This resulted in a foreign trade surplus of $5.5 billion, which is 3 times less year-on-year.
