BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 7. Azerbaijan rolled up its sleeves and brought in 121,200 tons of asphalt, shelling out $38,200 from Russia and Iraq in the first 11 months of 2024.

Data obtained by Trend from the Azerbaijani State Statistical Committee shows that 23,140 tons of the imported product worth $7,250 fell on Russia, and 98,060 tons amounting to $30,950 fell on Iraq.

These figures decreased by 32.9 tons (21.3 percent) in volume and grew by $3.46 million (10 percent) in value compared to 11 months last year (154,100 tons, valued at $34.74 million).

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 1,191 tons, valued at $220,000, of asphalt abroad, which represents a decrease of 527 tons (31 percent) in volume and $201,000 (47.7 percent) in value compared to the previous year (1,718 tons, valued at $421,000).

When it comes to the nation's exports of the aforementioned product, it was a one-horse race, sending it solely to Georgia from January through November 2024.
