BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 14. Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz field produced one million tons of condensate from January through March 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the country's Ministry of Energy indicates this figure's decrease by 100,000 tons (9.1 percent) compared to 1.1 million tons produced in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, four million tons of the production accounted for Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli field, one million tons (condensate) - Shah Deniz field, 0.14 million tons (condensate) - Absheron field, and SOCAR's oil production (including condensate) amounted to 1.8 million tons.
The Shah Deniz gas field is the preeminent natural gas field in Azerbaijan. It is located in the South Caspian Sea, along the coast of Azerbaijan, roughly 70 kilometers (43 miles) southeast of Baku, at a depth of 600 meters (2,000 feet). The area is over 860 square kilometers (330 square miles). The reservoir spans approximately 140 square kilometers, resembling the size and shape of Manhattan Island. It is regarded as a foundational component of the Southern Gas Corridor, intended to supply supplementary and alternative natural gas volumes to EU member states.
