BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. Azerbaijan imported 21.7 million kWh of electricity from Iran in the first quarter of 2025.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee shows that the cost of importing this amount of electricity was $226,500.
Electricity import from Iran rose by 244,000 kWh (3.2 percent) in volume and $7,000 (3.2 percent) in value compared to the same period last year (7.7 million kWh worth $219,500).
A total of 30 million kWh of electricity worth $933,000 was imported from Russia, Georgia and Iran during the mentioned period.
