BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 11. The total number of taxpayers in Azerbaijan exceeded 1.62 million as of June 1, 2025, with 86.9 percent being individual taxpayers and 13.1 percent being legal entities and other organizations.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Tax Service under the Ministry of
Economy of Azerbaijan shows that the aggregate count of taxpayers
has escalated by 4.4 percent relative to the corresponding
timeframe of the previous year, with the cohort of individuals
expanding by 4.4 percent and the segment of legal entities surging
by 7.7 percent.
In the context of commercial legal structures recognized by the
state, a substantial 91.7 percent comprised limited liability
companies (LLCs), while a mere 1.1 percent encompassed joint-stock
companies and cooperatives, alongside various alternative
organizational forms. The aggregate count of commercial
establishments documented by June 1 experienced a robust uptick of
8.3 percent relative to the preceding fiscal year, culminating in a
total of 196,485 entities.
Between January and May 2025, a total of 6,236 commercial entities
were established, with a significant 89.1 percent representing
domestic investment and 10.9 percent attributed to foreign
investment.
An aggregate of 85.7 percent of the commercial entities underwent
electronic registration protocols. Significantly, 96.8 percent of
domestically capitalized limited liability entities were
incorporated via the electronic registration framework throughout
the designated reporting interval.
