BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 14. Iran has extracted more than 80 percent of the recoverable hydrocarbon reserves from the Nar gas field, located near the city of Jam in Bushehr Province in the south of the country, Mahmoud Mirbagheri, Executive Director of the Iranian South Zagros Oil and Gas Production Company (SZOGPC), told reporters, Trend reports.
Mirbagheri noted that the initial hydrocarbon reserves of the Nar gas field are estimated at 16 trillion cubic feet (about 453 billion cubic meters).
He added that about 7.5 trillion cubic feet (about 212 billion cubic meters) of hydrocarbons were extracted during the first 20 years of operation.
The official also stated that since the establishment of a gas pressure station at the field in 2019, around 3.75 trillion cubic feet (about 106 billion cubic meters) of hydrocarbons have been produced.
To note, 33 wells have been drilled at the Nar field, of which 30 are currently producing hydrocarbons. The field contains four separate reservoirs and currently yields 19 million cubic meters of gas and 2,700 barrels of gas condensate per day.
