The Azerbaijani Finance Ministry has announced the outcome of ten leading insurance companies' activity for 2013. They account for around 82.46 percent of the total volume of insurance fees. At the moment some 28 insurance companies and one reinsurance company operate in Azerbaijan.

As of the year, the ranking in terms of insurance payments was led by Pasa Sıgorta insurance company as in the previous month. Around 27.43 million manat in payments fell to this company. This is more than 22.3 percent of all claims paid by insurers during the reporting period. Pasa Sıgorta is followed by Atesgah with 15.24 million manat (12.41 percent of all payments) and Azersıgorta company with payments with 13.25 million manat (more than 10.79 percent).
The total volume of premiums amounted to 405.68 million manat in 2013 (an 18.44 percent growth per year), while payments in this period hit 122.8 million manat (a 30.83 percent growth).
The Azerbaijani Finance Ministry's report does not include figures of the only reinsurance company AzRE.
The official exchange rate is 0.7844 AZN/USD on Jan. 22.
