Uzbek Ambassador to Kazakhstan Saidikram Niyazkhojaev met with Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev on May 10, the press service of the Kazakh premier said.
Reportedly, the parties discussed strengthening and development of Kazakh-Uzbek relations, expansion of trade-economic and cross-border cooperation, as well as general projects in science, transport, education, tourism, culture and sports.
They also considered organization and holding of events within the Year of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan.
“The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan amounted to $543.1 million in January-March 2018, which is 46.1 percent higher than the same period last year – $371.8 million,” the press service said.
Import from Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan increased by 25.6 percent to $143.2 million.
