Prices for greenhouse tomatoes and cucumbers in Iran increased and reached 110,000 rials (roughly $2.61) and 65,000 rials (roughly $1,54) per kilogram, respectively, Chairman of Iran's Fruits and Vegetables Association Asadollah Kargar said in an interview with Mehr News Agency.
Presently, rise in cucumber and banana prices amounts to 15 percent and 10 percent respectively, Kargar said adding that a kilogram of bananas cost between 110,000-125,000 rials (roughly $2.61-$2.97) in Iran.
Kargar added that usually in this period of the year amount of agricultural products decrease on the market, greenhouse products predominate and it leads to price increase.
He noted that prices are expected to decrease.
