Export-Import Bank (Eximbank) of the United States may participate in financing the purchase of high-tech American equipment by Uzbekistan in the framework of joint investment projects, Trend reports citing the press service of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade.
Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov discussed this topic with President and Chairman of the US Eximbank Kimberly A. Reed.
The parties exchanged views on current cooperation and prospects for its expansion, taking into account the dynamically developing economic potential of Uzbekistan and the newly created opportunities for partnership due to ongoing reforms and improving the country's credit ratings.
The prospects of increasing financing of joint investment projects in industry and infrastructure construction, as well as increasing lending to small and medium-sized businesses, were examined.
The parties also came to an agreement on joint actions for the development of funds raised under previous agreements with commercial banks of Uzbekistan.
