Baku Textile Factory, a big textile enterprise in Azerbaijan, is increasing the export of knitwear, director of the factory Sakina Babayeva told Trend.
“The factory plans to bring the production volumes up to 70,000 units per month,” the director added.
“At present, the production volumes reach 50,000,” Babayeva said. “We plan to increase these volumes by 10,000 in the first half of this year and to bring this figure up to 70,000 finished products by the end of the year.”
“The factory also plans to increase the export potential,” the director said. “We have proposals from the Arab countries for the export of knitwear. We plan to develop a schedule for supplies for the next two months to this market. We have received requests for the export of women's knitwear and some types of children's clothes."
The director stressed that the factory plans to purchase several knitting machines.
"We plan to purchase knitting machines worth 100,000-110,000 euros from Germany,” the director said. “The equipment will be approximately installed at the factory in October this year."
Some 300 people work in the Baku Textile Factory and seven production lines are used.
The factory has been operating since 1939. It was the first factory in the South Caucasus operating in the field of textile industry. Presently, the factory continues its activity upon the European standards by using Germany’s and Japan’s modern equipment and technologies. The experienced staff works at the factory.
The factory produces everyday clothes, evening dresses, corporate clothing, children's clothes, sportswear, medical uniforms, as well as overalls, school uniforms and all types of workwear, including promo clothing and military uniforms.
