An atelier for sewing women's clothing will open in Azerbaijan's Oghuz district as part of the project implemented in the country with financial support from the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of Switzerland (SECO), Head of Azerbaijan's Association of Women Entrepreneurs Sakina Babayeva told Trend.
"There are plans to open such small enterprises in 10 districts of the country," Babayeva said. "The new facility in Oghuz is planned to open in the coming months of 2020. The cost of the project is 120,000 manat [$70,588]. It is funded by the association and SECO. Each side contributes 50 percent of the funds. The opening of the atelier provides for the creation of more than 20 jobs. Similar small enterprises have already opened in Tovuz and Imishli districts."
According to the statistics, over 143,000 women are involved in business activities in Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani Association of Women Entrepreneurs was established in October 2017 through the support of Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs.
SECO is the federal government center of expertise for all significant issues related to economic policy. Its main objective is to ensure sustainable economic growth by regulating economic policy.
