The construction of the Complex of Delayed Coking and Tar Deasphalting Units (UZK-DAG) at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries is nearing completion, Trend reports via the Turkmengas electronic newspaper.
The complex will convert all heavy residues (tar, oil sludge, asphalt, and other residual products) at the plant into more valuable light oil products (gasoline, diesel fuels), as well as electrode coke.
The operation of the UZK-DAG, which is being built by specialists from the US company "Westport Trading Europe Limited," will have a positive impact on the overall economic and environmental efficiency of the plant. It will enable increased production of light oil products such as motor gasoline, diesel fuel, and liquefied gases (with further processing of liquefied gases into polypropylene).
The best technologies are used in the construction of UZK-DAG, including those used in Russia, Europe, and the US.
It is planned to develop a technological simulator for the operation of the ultrasonic inspection in order to train personnel for work in UZK. Prior to the completion of the workshop's construction and commissioning, this simulator will train operators in virtual work. This method will improve safety during commissioning.
The complex's construction began at the end of 2019 and is expected to be completed in 2022.
