The consumer market of Azerbaijan is expected to grow by 3.7 percent in 2021, despite a decrease of 5.1 percent in 2020, Trend reports citing the ‘Economic Review of Europe and Central Asia’ report of the World Bank (WB).
According to the WB forecasts, in 2022, the growth of the Azerbaijani consumer market will make up 3.6 percent, in 2023 - 3.5 percent.
Totally, GDP growth in Azerbaijan in 2021 will amount to 2.8 percent, the WB added.
The consumer price index (CPI) in Azerbaijan in the first 2 months of 2021 increased by 3.7 percent, including for food, drinks and tobacco products - by 4.9 percent, non-food products - by 3.6 percent, paid services population - by 2.3 percent compared to the same period of 2019.
Azerbaijan has been cooperating with the World Bank since 1992. The WB is supporting Azerbaijan in the implementation of major structural reforms.
