ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 21. New opportunities for strengthening transport links are opening up in the region, the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during an expanded meeting with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Astana, Trend reports via the press service of the Kazakh President.

According to Trend on Friday, citing the press service of the President of Kazakhstan, this was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during an expanded meeting with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Astana.

"Today, we had the opportunity to discuss the main directions for the further development of our cooperation with the President of Kazakhstan. I believe that, given the changes in the region, new opportunities are opening up for economic cooperation and strengthening transport links. I believe that the existing potential in the transport sector should be fully realized, which will open up new opportunities for us," Pashinyan said.

Meanwhile, Tokayev stated at the meeting with Pashinyan that Kazakhstan and Armenia will sign a document today that will elevate cooperation between the countries to the level of a strategic partnership.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, in a press statement with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on October 21, stated that: Azerbaijan has lifted all restrictions on the transit of goods to Armenia that had been in place since the occupation.

On August 8 in Washington, Azerbaijani President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, US President Donald Trump, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a joint declaration. One of the points of the document provides for the launch of the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP) to unblock regional communications.
