DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, October 8. As of October 4, 2024, a total of 37,613 hectares of potatoes have been planted in Tajikistan, Trend reports.
According to the nation's Ministry of Agriculture, 24,526 hectares have been harvested, yielding a total of 504,000 tons of potatoes.
Additionally, 39,978 hectares of other vegetables have been sown, with 37,615 hectares harvested and a total yield of 1.274 million tons.
This includes 598,683 tons of onions, 56,505 tons of cabbage, 221,220 tons of tomatoes, 121,210 tons of cucumbers, 138,838 tons of carrots, and 137,691 tons of other vegetables.
Furthermore, Tajikistan has harvested 340,941 tons of fruits as of the same date, including 92,538 tons of grapes.
In 2023, the total agricultural output in Tajikistan reached 63.028 billion somoni (approximately $5.9 billion). This includes 43.36 billion somoni ($4.081 billion) from crop production and 19.662 billion somoni ($1.8 billion) from livestock production.
Public enterprises contributed 9.8 percent of the total agricultural output, while dehkan (household) farms accounted for 41.1 percent, and private households made up 49.1 percent.
