TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 3. The total value of Uzbekistan's imports of industrial goods over the period from January through July 2024 amounted to $3.33 billion, Trend reports.
According to the data from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency, this figure has taken a nosedive by 1.5 percent during the same period last year ($3.38 billion in January-July 2023).
In total, the specific weight in the overall volume of imports reached 15.1 percent.
Russia ($1.2 billion), China ($1 billion), Kazakhstan ($379.3 million), Türkiye ($171.7 million), and South Korea ($87.9 million) were the top partners sending industrial products to Uzbekistan.
Imports of industrial goods are mostly composed of iron and steel ($1.4 billion), metal products ($461.6 million), textile yarn, textiles, ready-made items ($312.4 million), rubber products ($241.6 million), and others.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's volume of imports amounted to $22 billion from January through July 2024. This figure has increased by 10 percent compared to the same period in 2023 ($20 billion in January–July 2023).
The main import partners in the foreign trade turnover were China ($5.6 billion), Russia ($4.6 billion), Kazakhstan ($1.5 billion), and Korea ($1 billion) from January through July 2024.
